History

In 2008 Nigel and two colleagues left Kingston Maurward College, to establish the Walled Garden in Moreton. Where people with Learning difficulties, mental health issues, autism etc could learn a range of skills in a rural environment.

Many people of varying ages have beneffited from attending the walled garden: working with a variety of animals and learning about horticulture and agriculture.

Following on from the success of the Walled Garden an opportunity arose to create a rural skills centre on the Dorset/ Hampshire border.

With a larger area of land the new enterprise is able to focus more on food production: free range eggs, fresh vegetables and small scale meat production using traditional breeds are all being developed at holtwood.
